Graphic Design is a lesser-known aspect of Jane’s repertoire, however it is by no means an insignificant part of her practice. She states:
In 2003 my partner commenced an academic degree in Tasmania. We left WA for four years. Whilst there I painted, exhibited, designed a house in WA (Salen), worked in and taught picture framing, and somehow squeezed in a Diploma of Graphic Design & Multimedia. I had completed a couple of design jobs in Perth prior to this (with the help of a computer savvy friend), however I wanted to learn the graphics software for myself.
On her return, Jane worked at Chil3, a highly regarded boutique studio in Fremantle. There, she combined her new skills with her visual arts background to generate conceptual design solutions for the studio.
Today Jane balances freelance graphics, painting and residential design work.
